ArizonaPreps.com - Fall Showcase has out-of-state flavor

When this year's 11th Annual Arizona Preps Fall Showcase takes place this weekend on the campus of Arizona State University, October 16-18th, 2009, there will be a much different flavor in this year's event.

While over the many years of existence for this annual event there have been kids from all over the West Coast finding their way to participate in the Fall Showcase, this year's event will be comprised of numerous players from abroad the United States.

This year's exciting event will be filled with much of the state's best basketball talent, regardless of class, but will also include student-athletes from all over the country in attendance. Players from New York, Las Vegas, San Diego, Wyoming and Oklahoma will be performing their skills in front of the college scouts and coaches this weekend.

"This annual event has become very popular in the state of Arizona, and also abroad now," said Tournament Director and Arizona Preps' Senior Editor Anthony Ray. "We are very excited about the event's popularity."

While numerous events continue to pop up around the state each year, the Fall Showcase has been consistent in it's success annually.

"I'm glad this event has become what it has over it's 11 year existence," added Ray. "It is beginning to become what it was destined to become. Kids want and need exposure and our staff works very hard to make those ambitions a reality."

This year's event will begin Friday at 4:30PM with opening announcements and this year's guest speaker, Eddie Johnson of the Phoenix Suns.
